Jackie The Baboon
We have partnered with Art House Jersey to bring this heartbreaking show to full production in 2019. We had three workshop performances in Sep/Oct 2018 in Jersey, Surrey and London.
Jackie the Baboon tells the astonishing true story of a chacma baboon who was found by a soldier and taken to war as a mascot by the 3rd South African Infantry. Jackie was given a uniform and served in the trenches of the Great War for three years, including the infamous Battle of Devil's Wood. Illuminating, heartbreaking and groundbreaking, this visually rich show explores our complicated relationship with animals and the decisions we make. It features innovative puppetry, ensemble acting and an original score to tell the life story of this incredible baboon and take you through Work War 1 from a unique point of view.
If you are interested in coming on board as a partner on this incredible show then please get in touch.
Developed with support from Arts Council England, University of Surrey, Omnibus Theatre and Orange Tree Theatre.

This Moose Belongs To Me
Adapted from Oliver Jeffers’ beautifully illustrated book, this project has undergone two stages of development so far with a production to be announced soon.
It tells the story of Wilfred, a little boy who says he owns a moose. This may or may not be true. This is a story about friendship and the way we engage with, and respect nature.

Hollow was commissioned as part of the egg's Incubator programme under a Leverhulme Scholarship. It culminated in a showcase at the egg at Theatre Royal Bath in September 2017.
A barn owl, perfect in its natural element, is torn from its harmony by a passing truck. It’s discovered by a teenage boy, Luke, tensely glued to his phone as he tries to cope with the cause of his bruised face and torn uniform.
Before he can work out how to deal with the owl he is interrupted by Mike, an eager stranger in his late 30s. Luke looks like he needs some help, and Mike seems friendly enough. But maybe neither of these is true.
Mike is an odd man out, struggles with social interactions, and yet seems determined to give Luke life lessons. Luke appears reclusive and determined not to be discovered by a gang of local boys. Both don’t really understand the nature of this encounter, but an uneasy alliance develops as these two outsiders try to work out how to help the injured owl. Whether it wants that help or not.
Challenging the familiar 'child befriends cute animal' story: outsiders, inexpertness, misunderstanding, belonging and our relationship to nature all collide in this dark, oddly funny new play.
The full play is in development with plans for a production in 2019.
