What We're Up To

Jackie The Baboon

Jackie the Baboon tells the true story of a baboon who is found by a soldier and taken to war as a mascot by the 3rd South African Infantry. Jackie is given a uniform and serves in the trenches of the Great War for three years, including the infamous Battle of Devil’s Wood. This visually rich family show will feature innovative puppetry, ensemble acting and an original score by Olivier Award-winning composer Terry Davies to tell the life story of this incredible baboon.

This show will be receiving further development in 2018 with further news to be announced soon.

Developed with support from the Orange Tree Theatre, Arts Council England and University of Surrey.

A new show being developed at the egg at Theatre Royal Bath as part of their Incubator programme. A boy discovers an injured owl. A man discovers the boy and the owl. A dark, challenging play about outsiders, communication, relationships and nature.

This show received an industry sharing in October 2017 at the egg and is currently in development into a full show.

Developed with the egg at Theatre Royal Bath with Brunskill and Grimes as Leverhulme Scholars 2016/17.
