Duck, Death and the Tulip

Duck, Death and the Tulip is a puppet piece adapted from the children's picture book by Wolf Erlbruch. It was performed as part of a festival of new work at The Orange Tree Theatre, marking the final season of Artistic Director Sam Walters.

It tells the story of a Duck, who meets Death and and develops an unusual relationship. With puppets inspired by the original artwork, and an original score the piece moved audiences from 8 years to adults.

It has been through a further development period in anticipation of further production in 2018.

"I would go back and watch this again and again"

" I found the piece unexpectedly touching in its idea that death is something to be stoically, and even cheerfully, accepted rather than denied or fled from in terror."
